Editorial Standards

JackLab Audio publishes documentation-based guides for musicians using Linux. Aaron Seminoff is responsible for the publication.

Sources for technical instructions

We check commands, package names, configuration paths, and software behavior against official documentation. Each guide states its operating-system assumptions and links to its sources. Instructions for one distribution or release should not be assumed to apply unchanged to another.

Testing and illustrations

We distinguish documented behavior from measurements on a specific system. We do not describe a setup as tested unless the article records the relevant test. Buffer calculations are not measured round-trip latency.

Diagrams explain signal flow or a procedure. They are not screenshots of a working session unless identified as such. Illustrative images can be generated with AI. We also use AI tools for research and drafting; technical claims still require source checks.

Article corrections and updates

Send a correction to JackLab Audio with the article URL and a source or reproducible description of the problem. Substantive corrections receive a dated note on the affected article.

Our About page explains the site’s independence from the former JackLab Audio Distribution project and the software projects we cover.
